Lately, I’ve been really drawn to fountain pens, and after rummaging around, I found the very first one I ever used. It was a gift from my uncle to celebrate my entrance into junior high school. This was a special pen that I used when writing letters. Later, during my student years, I used it to write my resumes for job applications. Thanks to this fountain pen, I was able to write many resumes without any mistakes, and it played a crucial role in helping me secure my job.
I remember feeling that I could write neatly and with confidence using this pen, so I recently bought a new cartridge and used it for the first time in over 30 years (laughs). Yes, this is exactly how it felt! I could write with precision. Back then, I used it without thinking much about it, but now I realize that the nib was quite fine.
As I carefully examined this pen, I was surprised to find that it was **Made in USA**. It’s a Parker 45 model, with the name engraved on it. I used it thoroughly as an ordinary pen, and it’s now covered in scratches, but I’ve decided to treasure it from now on.
This pen brought back so many important memories that my desire to buy a new one has completely disappeared. I am grateful for everything. Thank you.
最近、万年筆がとっても気になり、ゴソゴソと探したら、人生で一番最初に使った万年筆が出てきた。中学の入学祝として叔父から送っていただいたもの。手紙を書くときに使っていた特別な一本でした。また学生時代の就職活動の履歴書を書くときに使っており、たくさんの履歴書を間違うことなく書けたのも、この万年筆のおかげでした。本当に大活躍してくれ、無事就職先も決めてくれました。しっかりとした文字を書くことができたような印象があったので、先日カートリッジを購入し、30数年ぶり（笑）に使ってみました。そうそう、この感触です。しっかりと文字が書けるのです。当時は普通に使っていましたが、今思うと、かなり細いペン先でした。
そんなペンをじっくりと眺めてみると、、、なんと Made in USAでした。
Paker 45というモデルで、そのモデル名も刻印されていました。普通のペンとしてモリモリ使っていたので、傷だらけですが、これからも大事にしていこうと思います。
昔の大事な記憶が蘇り、すっかり新しいものを購入しようという気持ち消え失せました。
日本製だけでなく、アメリカ製も良かったようです。全てに感謝です。ありがとうございました。
