This spring, I received a ballpoint pen as a gift. It’s absolutely wonderful, though I initially thought it might be a bit heavy. However, once I started using it, I was shocked at how effortlessly smooth it writes. Now, it has become my reliable companion—an indispensable part of my daily writing routine.
This ballpoint pen is made in Japan.
The other day, I tried writing with a Japanese-made fountain pen at a department store. It was remarkably smooth to use, which made me want to take out my old fountain pen and start using it again. Unsurprisingly, the writing experience was superb. I’m even considering purchasing one for myself.
Ultimately, I feel that Japanese-made writing instruments truly suit Japanese people. Their craftsmanship, design, and usability seem perfectly aligned with our preferences and writing style.

今年の春に一本のボールペンをいただいた。最初は重いかな、と思いながらも使い始めたところ、なんとも素晴らしい感触で、大変書きやすい。今となっては離すことができない一本となり、仕事ではこれ一本となりました。
そのボールペンは日本製。
どちらかというと欧州のものが好きなのですが、先日デパートでいただいたボールペンと同じメーカーの万年筆を試し書きしたところ、なんとも万年筆とは思えない書き味滑らか、、、こんなに書きやすいのか！とびっくりするものでありました。
もう20年以上前にそのメーカーの万年筆を使っていたので、思わず引っ張り出し再び使ってみるかと思いつつ、試し書きをした新しい一本を購入しようかと思いを巡らせている5月の連休でした。
いずれにしても日本人には Made in Japanの筆記具が合っているのではないかと思い、改めて日本製の良さを感じました。
